Do you have to pay taxes on crypto.com transactions?

Common activities that typically trigger tax liabilities include selling cryptocurrencies, trading one type of crypto for another, and engaging in staking.

How to export your crypto.com transaction history
Crypto.com supports both an APP and an EXCHANGE. For the purpose of filing your taxes, these can be seen as two separate exchanges. We will provide guides on how to export transactions for both services below. Use the one (or both) that apply to you.
It is possible to export your transaction history via the crypto.com API for the EXCHANGE. However, due to the slow loading times of that specific API, we have chosen to not support it for the time being. It is much more practical to use the File Import method.
Transaction type | File Import (app) | File Import (exchange) | Automatic Import (exchange) |
---|---|---|---|
Withdrawals | |||
Deposits | |||
Trades | |||
Trading Fees | |||
Staking Rewards / Supercharger | |||

Automatic import
Important: The API only works for the Crypto.com EXCHANGE (not the APP). It is very slow and can take 30-60 minutes to complete. Furthermore, it only allows the most recent 6 months of data. We recommend using the file import instead.
You can import transactions from Crypto.com EXCHANGE (not the APP) into Divly by using our API integration. After you have provided the API keys, Divly will be able to fetch your latest transactions anytime you click "Import Transactions" in the wallet page.
-
Sign in to the Crypto.com exchange.
-
Click on the account icon in the top right and then your account email. You should arrive at your Settings.
-
Click on the tab API Keys.

How to calculate and declare your crypto taxes
The three main methods are to do it yourself in Excel, use a tax platform like Divly, or pay for a tax lawyer to do it for you. Each one has different price points.
If you choose to use a tax platform, make sure that it supports your country. For example, Divly offers localized tax reports for a set of countries across Europe, Asia, and North America. You can always create an account for free if you want to try it out.
Common issues
- Ensure that you upload the SPOT_TRADE file (not the SPOT_ORDER file). This applies to the EXCHANGE only.
